Lead Front End Developer

Love music? Love data? Want to be part of an emerging global business? We are seeking a Lead Front End Developer to join our exciting music metadata business. Responsibilities

  • Working in a tightly-knit, fast moving agile development team
  • Helping to direct other Front End team members to shape the development of the product.
  • Define and scope features and development tasks.
  • Lead the building of scalable, reliable and robust applications.
  • Perform code reviews and ensuring quality assurance.
  • Produce and maintain documentation in Confluence using defined standards.
  • Taking the lead on automated browser and device testing and bug fixing.
  • Maintain a team orientated approach and work with other teams to develop products components and solve problems.
  • Become an expert in Jaxsta tools and services.
  • A practical ability to think two steps ahead and identify best practice with the finished product in mind will be a valuable asset.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript; ES6+. A command of HTML5 stack as a platform in its own right.
  • Modern Javascript stack, especially single-page application frameworks. We use Ember.js but React, Angular, Knockout, Mithril and Vue experience are also desirable.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript build, packaging and delivery tools. NPM, webpack, bower, grunt, etc.
  • Experience using cross-framework modern JavaScript via modern MV* frameworks.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, Web API’s and a deep love for cutting edge CSS3 best practices.
  • Experience writing test-driven code. Unit, integration, functional and automated browser testing.
  • Experience building front-end applications that rely on RESTful services.
  • A deep understanding of Continuous Integration and Deployment with experience in build and deployment for web applications. This may include tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins or Travis.
  • Knowledge of Unix command-line, ssh, security best practices, and some Unix admin.
  • Working in an agile workflow environment using collaboration tools; Confluence, JIRA and Bitbucket.
  • Ability to scope and estimate your own work via JIRA, as well as assist with planning for the wider team.
  • A love for teaching others with a passion for finding smart solutions and getting stuff done.
  • Understanding of Front-End and Distributed Systems Architectures, as well as experience with Microservices.
  • Deep understanding of software construction, high-availability and scalable systems.

Bonus

  • Computer science degree preferable.
  • Publically available code samples, especially in the context of collaborating on Open Source software. A github/bitbucket repo is better than a thousand words.
  • Java knowledge across Grails or a similar framework will help you understand the complete solution.
  • Design and UX experience across large consumer portals.
  • Experience on big projects across teams of up to 20 an advantage.
  • Experience working in a data-driven product environment. Have you worked in a SaaS, integration or API environment? Have you coded against a public API or implemented a client/processor for a specific data format?

Database Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of the core platform: a distributed, multi-tier web application.
  • Designing and implementing data models, APIs, and 3rd party integrations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience with PostgreSQL (or equivalent).
  • Experience in being the data model owner, working with all key stakeholders to ensure the model evolves to assist the business in the best possible way.
  • Experience in entity recognition, proximity scoring or deduplication processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting/resolving database integrity, performance, and replication issues.
  • Experience with query optimisation and performance tuning.
  • Experience with bulk data importing and translation.
  • Experience in making architecture recommendations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Experience in determining data model changes by studying project requirements, identifying database characteristics, and studying relevant industry specifications and standards.
  • Experience maintaining user references by writing and rewriting database descriptions.
  • Unix. You will need to know your away around a Unix box. We use Macs for development and deploy on Linux servers.
  • Development workflow tools; git, JIRA, Confluence, Stash.
  • Experience in Amazon RDS a must.
  • Understanding of application level caching technologies such as Memcached.

Integration Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Working in a tightly-knit, fast moving agile product team of both front and backend developers, designers, data scientists and database analysts.
  • Help to scope and maintain the ETL process for Jaxsta as we head towards greater automation.
  • Build and maintain data loading and integration for production systems using ETL tools.
  • Handling inbound/outbound documents, conducting auditing, handling relevant documents, and networking with partners.
  • Serving as the initial contact for troubleshooting inquiries.
  • Responding to maintenance issues.
  • Monitoring document transmissions.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve relevant processes.
  • Perform audits to ensure quality standards are being met on a regular basis, and keep staff up to date on technology changes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working with API based web portals, as well as experience with Big Data, AWS and Ubuntu will be highly regarded for this opportunity.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with ETL or ELT development using languages such as Python, or Java frameworks such as Grails.

Accountant (Part Time)

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day financial maintenance and integrity of the organisation through preparation and analysis of timely and accurate and timely financial data. This is a highly transactional role, supporting all functions of the Company and ideal for a genuine ‘all-rounder’.

Responsibilities

  • Financial maintenance and review of Jaxsta including full balance sheet, account reconciliation process, journal entries, tax accounting and audit review
  • Accounts payable and receivable and bank account reconciliations
  • Prepare IAS and BAS for CFO approval and lodgement
  • Calculate FBT annually for CFO approval and lodgement
  • Prepare and lodge payroll tax and superannuation
  • Participate in the coordination, compilation and review of monthly reports
  • Provide financial information to contribute to budgeting and forecasting activity
  • Prepare financial reports and financial components of written submissions for government and other grants and incentives
  • Maintain accurate asset register
  • Maintain up to date Company insurance and WorkCover agreements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor level degree in Accounting or Commerce
  • Membership of a professional accounting body (CA/CPA)
  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in accounting in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience with Xero or similar accounting system
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and standards, preparation of financial statements and processing monthly journals
  • Strong computer literacy. Experience working with the Google suite of products - Google Mail, Google Docs, Google Sheets will be an advantage
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
